We are looking for a?SENIOR COMPLIANCE OFFICER?to join their team.
You will be joining an inspirational charity at a very exciting time.
This role has a lot of room for growth and you?ll be working closely
with a range of teams within the charity to ensure sufficient
compliance knowledge amongst staff and branches that robust processes
are in place to provide appropriate assurance.
THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced compliance professional who has a
strong understanding of the compliance within a regulated national
charity. You will require strong governance acumen and experience of
working with senior level contacts both internally and externally.
You?ll be a creative thinker who is able to identify problems and
come up with innovative solutions, as well as being a strong
communicator who is able to present their ideas effectively.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Prepare, research, coordinate and implement action plans to ensure
the DSI meets its legislative obligations across a broad range of
areas
* Maintain compliance with various governance codes and best
practice guidance
* Ensure statutory reporting requirements, ongoing compliance
obligations and deadlines are met
* Prepare and submit regulatory filings (including CRO, Charities
Regulatory Authority)
* Ensure DSI?s policies and procedures are kept up to date
including GDPR, in conjunction with HR and Finance Departments
* Ensure DSI branch governance structures are in place, supporting
and training our branches on the implementation of their governance
structures
* Fulfil the role of Board Secretary for the Board and attending
meetings throughout the year.
* Organising Board and Committee member induction and ongoing
training
* Maintain compliance registers and other records in relation to all
of the above
* Assist with risk management reporting and maintenance of the risk
register
* Assist with Ad-hoc tasks and/or projects alongside Senior
Management/CEO
THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* A third level qualification in law; compliance; corporate
governance; project management or similar discipline
* Minimum of **Apply on the website** years work experience in a
position related to law, compliance
* Experience of developing strong processes and procedures and a
track record of implementing these
* Experience working with senior leaders and have strong influencing
skills
* Ability to work in confidence with commercially sensitive
information
* Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills
* Experience coordinating complex projects with multiple
stakeholders Proactively manage and follow through on projects to
successful completion
* An ability to work independently and on own initiative whilst
being part of a wider team.
* A proactive approach to problem-solving with good decision-making
capability
* Good interpersonal skills with an ability to maintain positive
relationships across a range of stakeholders
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Proficiency in IT skills including MS Office and databases

* Flexibility for travel nationwide is essential, our national office
is located at Down Syndrome Ireland Unit 3, Park Way House, Western
Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin **Apply on the

LOCATION: The job is based at our National office in Ballymount, with
a requirement to travel around Ireland to branches where required.
SALARY: Dependant on experience.
